Large Radio Telescopes for Anomalous Microwave Emission Observations

Hypothetical anomalously emitting region. The 33 GHz signal shown in the figure is inconsistent with the combination of free-free emission (dashed line) plus thermal dust emission (dot-dashed line), so an additional contribution is required to reach the measured flux. This is provided by different models of AME for electric dipole (ED, [13]) and magnetic dipole (MD, [19]). All plotted models are consistent at 33 GHz but are different at lower frequencies. Microwave measurements with high SNR will be able to select the correct model. The shown error bars correspond to the expected nominal sensitivity of the Parkes receivers.
