Recent Progress in Differential and Difference Equations

Description

Organized by M. Růžičková (Slovak Republic) and J. Diblík (Czech Republic), a Conference on Differential and Difference Equations and Applications 2010 was held in Rajecké Teplice, Slovak Republic, in June 21–25, 2010. More than 50 contributed papers were presented along with eighteen invited lectures given by renown experts in the field such as T. A. Burton, V. Covachev, O. Došlý, J. Džurina, I. Rachůnková, J. Jaroš, W. Kratz, N. Partsvania, V. Răsvan, M. Rontó, S. Stanĕk, M. Tvrdý, and F. Sadyrbaev. The included topics were different aspects of oscillation, nonoscillation, periodicity, boundary value problems, stability, asymptotic behaviour, boundedness, controllability and optimization, representation of solutions, dependence on parameters, algebraic problems for linear equations, fractional and half-linear equations, generalized differential equations, functional equations, impulsive equations, integrodifferential equations, integral equations, symplectic systems, and dynamic equations on time scales. Applications to economy and modelling of heterogeneous media were presented as well.

This special issue will include the best contributions presented at the conference, and as well as others that outline the recent progress in differential and difference equations. This special issue will focus on the qualitative and quantitative properties of differential and difference equations. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Asymptotic behaviour of solutions
  • Boundedness of solutions
  • Nonoscillation and oscillation theory
  • Stability theory
  • Numerical algorithms and computational aspects
  • Applications to real-world phenomena

Manuscripts that are submitted to this special issue will automatically recieve a 50% reduction in the journal's Article Processing Charges.

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/aaa/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/ according to the following timetable:
