Some Recent Trends in Variational Inequalities and Optimization Problems with Applications
Description
Variational inequality has become a rich of inspiration in pure and applied mathematics. In recent years, classical variational inequality problems have been extended and generalized to study a large variety of problems arising in structural analysis, economics, optimization, operations research, and engineering sciences. Using the projection technique, it has been shown that the variational inequalities are equivalent to the fixed point problem. This alternative formulation has played a fundamental and significant part in developing several numerical methods for solving variational inequalities and related optimization problems. Some recent trends in this field will be main focus of this special issue.
This special issue focuses on algorithmic approaches to solve variational inequalities and related optimization problems. We invite authors to contribute original as well as review articles. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Variational inequality problems
- System of variational inequality problems
- General mixed variational inequality problems
- Nonlinear complementarity problems
- Hierarchical fixed point problems
- Mixed equilibrium problems
