Perturbation Methods and Formal Modeling for Dynamic Systems

Description

Perturbation methods: These are mathematical methods for finding an approximate solution to a problem which cannot be solved exactly, by starting from the exact solution of a related problem. We aim to provide a platform for the discussion of the major research challenges and achievements in theory and application. Theoretical and numerical results are welcome. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Stability analysis
  • Biological modeling

Formal modeling: Formal methods can simplify the tasks of creating and understanding complex systems, with concomitant improvements in quality and correctness. Formal methods have been proved to be useful in a number of computing subdisciplines. Indeed, methods and tools of relevance to modeling and verification of systems have been studied and developed in topics such as heterogeneous and legacy databases, federated systems, ontologies, view management, knowledge management, mediators, brokering and directory services, relaxed transactions and workflows, concurrent O-O and actor programming, high-level communication, mobile computing, concurrent engineering, business process management, information retrieval, filtering, and browsing, resource discovery, negotiation, and intelligent agents in general.
