Note., h1, b, t1, and t2 are the web width, flange steel tubes’ height, width, and thickness, and web thickness, respectively. l is specimen length. λs is the slenderness ratio, i.e., . fyf and fyw are the measured average yield strength for flange and web steel, respectively. fcu is the measured average cubic compressive strength for concrete. ξ is the hoop coefficient, i.e., ξ = Asfyf/Acfck.
