Construction and Management of Urban Rail Transit Systems

Description

An urban rail transit system is one of the most important parts of the urban infrastructure. The development of urban rail transit systems is also a direct symbol of the economic development level of a country.

The ever-increasing construction environment and engineering quality requirements have necessitated the rapid development of construction technology of urban rail transit systems. The research and application of new construction technologies and management methods is an effective solution to such challenges. Typically, the construction process of an urban rail transit system involves many disciplines and has an interdisciplinary nature. The safety and environmental issues considering the life cycle of metro systems have also drawn increasing attention from both academics and policy makers. In addition, deep research and promotion of intelligent construction and information technology in the construction and management of urban rail transit system is inevitable.

This Special Issue aims to report recent advances in the new theory, new materials, new technique, and new methods in the construction and management of urban rail transit systems. We welcome original research and review articles on challenges and innovative solutions in the planning, design, construction, and management of urban rail transit systems. Engineering practice applications and case studies especially that are under complex geological conditions and construction environment are also encouraged.
