Sustainable Construction Engineering
Description
The construction industry plays a vital role in GDP. As the demand for the construction of buildings and infrastructure is continuously increasing due to urbanization, there is a need to adopt sustainability principles in all aspects of projects such as site selection, design, execution, procurement, resource management, operation, and maintenance.
The challenge for sustainable construction engineering is to realistically design, develop, and implement. There is also a great need for policy and standards to be implemented and adopted for the execution of such concepts in large scale projects. Novel digital tools and techniques can supplement in assessing the benefits on the social, environmental, and economic front.
The Special Issue aims to bring together novel ideas that can facilitate the construction industry to implement sustainability for greener construction to preserve the environment for the next generation. Original research and review articles are welcome.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Novel ideas in sustainable construction engineering: resources (construction materials, water, energy, etc.), tools, techniques, and policies
- Sustainable product design and performance evaluation
- Sustainable product development and impact assessment
- Application of digital construction techniques for sustainable construction engineering
- Tools and policies for sustainable construction engineering
