The components , , and of the effective permittivity tensor depend on the orientation of the principal axes of the metamaterial, i.e., on the angle between the wires and the normal to the air-MM interface. In the slab of homogeneous metamaterial is fixed; however, we also consider the case of spatially changing orientation of the medium optical axis (see Figures 5ā7).
