DMV destruction aggravated proinflammatory cytokine expression in an esophageal instillation model. The concentration of the cytokines TNF-α (a), IL-1β (b), IL-6 (c), and PGE2 (d) in esophageal tissue in experimental groups more significantly increased than in the control group (, and ). Specifically, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and PGE2 expression more significantly increased in the esophageal tissues of the operation + acid groups compared to those of the operation + saline groups (, and ).
