Hepatic but Not CNS-Expressed Human C-Reactive Protein Inhibits Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis in Transgenic Mice
CNS-expressed human CRP does not upregulate the expression of inflammatory biomarkers in the CNS. qRT-PCR of mRNA isolated from the brains of wildtype and nCRPtg mice, per genotype. Human CRP expression in nCRPtg brains does not influence the expression of endothelial or neuronal nitric oxide synthases (eNOS and nNOS, resp.), GFAP, or CD68. Inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) was not detected in either genotype. Expression of each gene is normalized to expression in wildtype mice.
