Inhibition of HRI kinase activity by quercetin. The kinase activity of the purified human, mouse and canine HRI proteins was determined using an in-vitro kinase assay in the presence of various concentrations of quercetin from 0.01 M to 100 M, shown in log M units. The data are expressed as a percent of activity compared to a vehicle control at 100% at the end of the two hour reaction. All experiments were performed in duplicate or triplicate with the mean ± SEM represented.
