Measurement of Atmospheric Neutrino Oscillations with Very Large Volume Neutrino Telescopes

Survival probabilities for   (a) and   (b) as a function of neutrino energy and arrival direction for Earth crossing trajectories affected by oscillations (). Calculated using the values in [3] assuming a normal mass ordering. Resonant matter effects produce the large disappearance of around 6 GeV and , as well as the discontinuities on the survival pattern of below 15 GeV. The abrupt changes observed at are due to sharp jumps in the electron density profile of the Earth. The dashed line indicates the connection between these figures and Figure 4.
