Light is emitted from samples illuminated by a 250 nm wavelength UV lamp for eye inspection. From left to right, pure water (H₂O), 2-ethoxyethanol, NE3, and R sample. Pure water and 2-ethoxyethanol do not emit light. Our main NE3 sample emits a relatively moderate amount of light compared with the R sample at the rightmost vial in the figure.
