In situ step-growth polymerization of polyethylenimine (PEI) and epoxy resin (ER) in the presence of polybenzimidazole (PBI) to form a PEI-ER/PBI semi-IPN membrane, where PBI and PEI-ER crosslinked networks form a semi-interpenetrating network structure.
