The maximum inferior vena cava diameter (dIVCmax) was measured as the maximum anterior-posterior dimension at end-expiration using the leading-edge technique (inner edge to inner edge of the vessel wall). The minimum inferior vena cava diameter (dIVCmin) was measured at end-inspiration. The collapsibility index was calculated using the built-in software available on the ultrasound systems.
