Inactivation of viruses by CAE. The viruses were incubated at 20°C for 5 min in 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 5.0) containing 0.15 M sodium chloride and varying concentrations of CAE. Number of infectious virus was determined by a plaque assay after the incubation and was normalized to that incubated in PBS (pH 7.4).
