Molecular Characterization of Norovirus Strains Isolated from Older Children and Adults in Impoverished Communities of Vhembe District, South Africa

Phylogenetic tree based on the 344-nucleotide sequence of the NoV GII capsid gene fragment; the neighbour-joining tree of the GII capsid strains circulating between August 2017 and October 2018 in the rural communities of Vhembe District, Limpopo Province, South Africa. Squared black dot indicates the GII.4 capsid genotype, round black dot for the GII.2 genotype, and black diamond dot for the GII.1 capsid genotype. Forty-seven reference strains of NoV are selected from GenBank with their respective accession numbers. Evolutionary analyses are conducted in MEGA X [30].
