Spectra of the purified MnP catalysed oxidation of bromide and iodide as measured by the formation of (a) tribromide and (b) triiodide complexes. The pH dependence of Br and I oxidation by the purified enzyme is shown as insert (c). Reaction solution 1 mL contained “2.5 μg of the enzyme and 20 mM KBr (a) 0.5 μg of the enzyme and 20 mM of KI in (b) in 20 μM sodium succinate buffer pH 3.0 at 30°C containing 100 μM H2O2.” In (c) the same solution compositions have been used as (a) and (b) but the pHs have been varied.
