p,p-DDE Induces Apoptosis of Rat Sertoli Cells via a FasL-Dependent Pathway

Effect of p, -DDE on the viability of rat Sertoli cells with MTT assay. MTT (3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) can be reduced by the mitochondrial dehydrogenase of viable cells to blue formazan product which can be measured spectrophotometrically. Cells were treated with DMSO, 10, 30, 50 or 70 μM p, -DDE for 24 hours, and the optical density (OD) was measured by MTT. Cellular viability (%) was calculated using the following equation: cellular viability ( )=( / ) × 100. Significant difference is (*) , compared with the control group.
