(a) A male mdx52 mouse at 6 weeks of age. The generalized appearance is almost normal. (b) The pathology (H and E) of the tibialis anterior muscle shows multicentrally nucleated fibers with an increased extent of invasion of inflammatory cells and the interstitial space. Hypertrophic muscle fibers were also observed.
