Mechanisms of allergic responses. Allergic response is constituted by two phases: an early phase (a) of initial sensitization and memory activation and a later phase response (b) after re-exposure to allergen, resulting in release of inflammatory mediators as a consequence of allergen cross-linking basophil/mast cell-bound specific IgE.
