The protein expression levels of p16INK4a and p19ARF. (a) Upon Western blotting, the senescence marker proteins, p16INK4a and p19ARF, were expressed in the mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-like cells after 4 weeks culture. Both levels decreased in the cells after 12 weeks culture. (b) In a densitometric analysis with correction of β-actin intensity, both protein levels in the cells cultured for 12 weeks decreased significantly compared with the levels in the 4-week cultured cells. 4 wks: the MSC-like cells cultured for 4 weeks, 10 wks: the MSC-like cells cultured for 10 weeks, compared with 4 wks.
