Comparison of the changes caused by hesperidin, hesperetin, and naringenin on the metabolic fluxes from exogenous octanoate ((a), (b), and (c)) and from endogenous fatty acids ((d), (e), and (f)) in perfused livers isolated from fasted rats. The effluent perfusate was analysed for acetoacetate (AcAc), β-hydroxybutyrate (β-Hbut), and 14CO2. Oxygen uptake was followed polarographically. Values are expressed as the means ± standard errors of the mean of three animals (three liver perfusion experiments) for each experimental condition.
