A Lys49 Phospholipase , Isolated from Bothrops asper Snake Venom, Induces Lipid Droplet Formation in Macrophages Which Depends on Distinct Signaling Pathways and the C-Terminal Region
Cytoplasmic lipid droplets compartmentalize PGE2. Macrophages incubated with RPMI (control) or MT-II (0.8 μM) for 3 h were labeled for LBs (fluorescent Nile Red) and for PGE2 (Cayman Chemical). Merged image shows colocalization of PGE2 to LDs. Cell nuclei are observed by DIC. The pictures are representative of three independent experiments.
