Phytoestrogen <i>α</i>-Zearalanol Attenuates Homocysteine-Induced Apoptosis in Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells

<table>Pretreatment with <i>α</i>-ZAL reduced the expression of 3-nitrotyrosine in homocysteine-challenged HUVECs (Western blot). The expression of 3-nitrotyrosine was significantly increased after treatment with 500 <i>μ</i>mol/L homocysteine for 24 h. Pretreatment with <i>α</i>-ZAL could attenuate this effect.
