Quantification of neuronal transduction. The numbers of GFP⁺/NeuN⁺ neuronal or GFP⁺/NeuN^- nonneuronal cells in yfAAV-CAG-GFP-injected and yfAAV-SynI-GFP-injected mice (𝑛=6) were compared. The yfAAV9/3-SynI-GFP vector transduced approximately four times more NeuN-positive neurons than the yfAAV9/3-CAG-GFP vector in the frontal cortex, hippocampus, and amygdala. The volume of each region of interest was 0.04×1×1mm³. A total of eight sections of each region of interest were analyzed. N.D., not detected; Hippo, hippocampus; Amyg, amygdala.
