Changes in Bacterial Population of Gastrointestinal Tract of Weaned Pigs Fed with Different Additives

Figure 1

Microbial diversity in the different gastrointestinal segments. The pigs were fed with a control diet (CT) or with the same diet with avilamycin (AB), sodium butyrate (AC), or with a mixture of plant extracts (XT). The samples were collected from digestive contents in the stomach (ST), the proximal jejunum (PJ), the distal jejunum (DJ), the ileum (I), the proximal colon (PC), in the distal colon (DC), and the rectum (R). Error bars stand for standard deviation. Different letters (a, b, c) show significant differences among treatments for the same tract ( ).
