Dynamics of Alloplastic Bone Grafts on an Early Stage of Corticotomy-Facilitated Orthodontic Tooth Movement in Beagle Dogs

Orthodontic appliances were custom-made for each study model. The canine and fourth premolar teeth were banded to form an anchor tooth, and a 0.9 mm stainless steel wire was welded on the buccal surface of the bands. The second and third premolars were banded with a lingual button. After 4 weeks, the animals were anesthetized to fit the orthodontic appliances to the teeth. The arrows indicate the direction of force.
