Effect of MS-DBS on AChE activity. In the prefrontal cortex, AChE activity of the stimulation group was significantly increased more than that in implantation group (). Hippocampal AChE activity in the lesion () and implantation () groups was significantly less than that in the normal group. However, AChE activity in the stimulation group was equivalent to that in the normal group. The AChE activity was expressed as the optical density of the colorimetric reading at 405 nm.
