CEUS Helps to Rerate Small Breast Tumors of BI-RADS Category 3 and Category 4

Figure 2

A sonogram of a right breast from a 57-year-old woman is shown. (a) There were two solid hypoechoic lesions at 7 o’clock in the right breast (lesion 1:  mm and lesion 2:  mm), with a circumscribed margin and defined, irregular shape, with a heterogeneous internal echo and nodular posterior echo enhancement. CDFI (color Doppler flow imaging): rich color flow signals were clearly visible in the nodule and its surrounding. Ultrasound diagnosis: BI-RADS 4c. CEUS (b): in the early arterial phase, nodules within its surrounding with significantly heterogeneous concentric enhancement can be seen. The range of strengthening was greater than the range that was in US. CEUS diagnosis: BI-RADS 5. Pathology: invasive ductal breast carcinoma.
