Synergistic Exposure of Rice Seeds to Different Doses of -Ray and Salinity Stress Resulted in Increased Antioxidant Enzyme Activities and Gene-Specific Modulation of TC-NER Pathway

Water up-take measurements in irradiated rice seeds during imbibition carried out in presence of H2O (a) and 100 mM NaCl solution (b). For imbibition experiments, rice seeds were transferred to Petri dishes containing filter papers moistened with 2.5 mL distilled water and 100 mM NaCl solution and kept in a growth room at 30/20°C day/night temperature and 12 h photoperiod and a relative humidity (RH) of 75–80%. Fivedays after the beginning of the experiment, the germinated seeds were photographed (c) and germination efficiency was calculated. Values are expressed as mean ± SD of three independent replications with 100 seeds for each replication. NT: nontreated samples.
