A Derived Network-Based Interferon-Related Signature of Human Macrophages Responding to Mycobacterium tuberculosis

TMtb-iNet overlapped more genes with an interferon-related module. The interferon-related module (M3.1) contained 94 genes, almost half of which (44/94) were present in the THP1r2Mtb-induced signature (depicted as the proportion of black in the circle at position M3.1). Of these 44 genes, 33 were also present in TMtb-iNet, whereas only 11 were in TMtb-iEx. This biased distribution is statistically significant (, Fisher’s exact test). Functional clarification of each module is indicated in the lower panel [15].
