Effect of CLF1 on viability of biofilm-entrapped cells from (a) Streptococcus mutans and (b) S. mitis. Biofilms were grown for 24 hours in the presence of CLF1 at different concentrations. The negative control was performed with 8% DMSO and the positive control with chlorhexidine at 31.25 µg/mL, and both are diluted in ultrapure water. Error bars represent standard deviation and statistical value (represented by * or #) indicates concentrations that are significantly different from negative and positive controls, respectively. < 0.001; < 0.001.
