The Prognostic and Risk-Stratified Value of Heart-Type Fatty-Acid-Binding Protein in Community Acquired Pneumonia in Emergency Department

Heart-type fatty-acid-binding protein (H-FABP) levels in patients with different outcomes. Circulating H-FABP level was higher in patients who died within 28 days (positive) after emergency department (ED) arrival than in patients who did not (negative) ( ). It was also higher in patients who required mechanical ventilation ( ) or a vasopressor ( ) within 6 h after ED arrival (positive) than in those who did not (negative).
