Exogenous Proline and Glycine Betaine Mediated Upregulation of Antioxidant Defense and Glyoxalase Systems Provides Better Protection against Salt-Induced Oxidative Stress in Two Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Varieties

Leaf relative water content in salt sensitive and salt tolerant rice seedlings induced by exogenous proline and glycine betaine under salt stress. S150 and S300 indicate 150 mM NaCl and 300 mM NaCl, respectively. Pro and GB indicate 5 mM proline and glycine betaine spray, respectively. Mean (±SD) was calculated from three replicates for each treatment. Bars with different letters (small letters for BRRI dhan49 and capital letters for BRRI dhan54) are significantly different at applying DMRT.
