Immobilization of Murine Anti-BMP-2 Monoclonal Antibody on Various Biomaterials for Bone Tissue Engineering

Figure 5

Localization of BMP-2, BMP-4, and BMP-7 antigens within defect sites with immobilized anti-BMP-2 mAb following in vivo implantation and retrieval after 8 weeks. (a) Representative CLSM images of titanium, alginate, and ACS groups with immobilized anti-BMP-2 mAb harvested from calvarial defects after 8 weeks. The immunofluorescence results revealed the capacity of the murine mAb to attract and hold BMP-2, -4, and -7 ligands. Scaffolds immobilized with nonspecific isotype mAb failed to show any positive staining. (b) Quantitative analysis of red fluorescence intensity of the images shown in (a). for each group. ; NS: not significant.
