Cigarette Smoke-Exposed Candida albicans Increased Chitin Production and Modulated Human Fibroblast Cell Responses

Oxidative stress reduced the growth of the CSC-pretreated C. albicans. CSC-pretreated C. albicans was washed and 10⁶ cells/mL were incubated with various concentrations of H₂O₂ for 1 h. The cells were then washed twice with warm medium and used to ascertain cell viability by MTT assay (). Significance was determined by comparing the CSC-pretreated and untreated C. albicans.
