HQT protects against TNBS-induced colitis in a manner equal to mesalazine. Rats with TNBS-induced colitis were treated with HQT (120 mg/kg) or mesalazine (100 mg/kg). (a) Body weight changes (percentage of original body weight), (b) bleeding score, and (c) diarrhoea score were scored daily. (d) Rats were sacrificed on day 7 to measure colon length.
