Use of Dried Plasma Spots for HIV-1 Viral Load Determination and Drug Resistance Genotyping in Mexican Patients

Figure 2

Phylogenetic tree constructed using sequence data generated from 22 HIV pol region paired plasma (P) and DPS (D) samples. The tree incorporating 1000 nonparametric bootstraps, constructed using sequence data from paired plasma and DPS samples. Phylogenetic tree was produced by the neighbor-joining method and the reliability of the branching orders was assessed by using the bootstrap approach with Mega 6.06 software [10]. One reference sequence representing HIV subtype B was included (HXV2-B subtype). Paired samples (P) or DPS are indicated in the patient ID. Sample HIV-27, which was previously genotyped with ViroSeq (VS), was included and paired with the sequence obtained with the in-house genotyping assay from the plasma sample.
