Mean auditory frequency follows a linear relationship with electrode number, with a frequency increasing along with the number of the electrode. However, standard deviation bars show that the same frequency may be stimulated by up to 5 adjacent electrodes depending on the subject, thus arguing against the use of the electrode number to accurately evaluate insertion depth.
