Hemolytic activity of prophenin 2. The percentage of hemolysis was calculated from the absorbance at 540 nm of the supernatants after 1 h of interaction of red blood cells with pro-prophenin 2, processed peptide, and NH₂-tritrpticin. Hemolysis of 100% was obtained by the treatment of erythrocytes with 0.1% Triton X-100.
