β-Catenin-Dependent Signaling Pathway Contributes to Renal Fibrosis in Hypertensive Rats

Protein levels of β-catenin in 2K1C hypertensive rats treated with lisinopril. Western blot analysis of β-catenin in the unclipped kidney from 2K1C rats treated or not treated with lisinopril was performed. The hypertension induced an increase in the levels of β-catenin, while the treatment with lisinopril decreased it. Numbers (1, 2, and 3) in the Western blot indicate an individual animal sample in a given group. The level of protein was normalized to β-actin levels and was expressed as a fold change relative to sham rats. The bars represent the mean ± SEM (). .
