A simple visual representation of the three tiers (left to right) of an experimental design created by the portlet and their internal relations. With the exception of biological entities, each sample carries a project-specific identifier. Each tier contains unique metainformation like organism for entities or tissue for extracts. yEd graph editor (yFiles software) was employed for graphs visualization [16].
