Metformin Synergistically Enhances Cisplatin-Induced Cytotoxicity in Esophageal Squamous Cancer Cells under Glucose-Deprivation Conditions

Metformin significantly retards the DNA repair process in glucose-deprivation medium. In high glucose medium, 200 μM metformin addition slightly reduced the expression of γ-H2AX foci caused by 1 μM DDP, while, under glucose-deprivation condition, addition of 200 μM metformin significantly elevates the expression of γ-H2AX foci formation caused by 1 μM DDP. indicates ; indicates no significant difference found.
