Chlamydial Type III Secretion System Needle Protein Induces Protective Immunity against Chlamydia muridarum Intravaginal Infection

Prime-boost immunization with AdTC_0037/rTC_0037-MPLA reduces chlamydia loads in the upper genital tracts of BALB/c mice. Uteruses were collected at day 30 after infection, and Chlamydia muridarum loads were determined by polymerase chain reaction. A 100% reduction in bacterial infection was observed in the prime-boost vaccinated group compared to the control groups (; ).
