Effect of SSHT on the thickness of S. pneumonia biofilm. (a) 3D analysis of biofilm formation of S. pneumonia treated with SSHT. Bacteria were cultured with or without SSHT (500 µgmL) under static conditions at 37°C for 2 days in THY. Formed biofilms were stained with FITC. Three-dimensional images were reconstructed from confocal optical sections using Imaris software. Thickness was measured at nine arbitrary points in each field using Imaris software.
