Plumbagin Alleviates Capillarization of Hepatic Sinusoids In Vitro by Downregulating ET-1, VEGF, LN, and Type IV Collagen

Plumbagin decreases the levels of ET-1, VEGF, LN, and type IV collagen, as determined by immunofluorescence assay. LSECs were treated with plumbagin after stimulation with leptin. Cells treated with vehicle were used as controls. ET-1 (red) were widely observed in cytoplasm of LSECs. The proteins were immunostained using cytokeratin-19 antibody and are shown in red. Nuclei were stained using DAPI (blue). Scale bar, 20 μm.
