Saccharomyces cerevisiae-Derived Mannan Does Not Alter Immune Responses to Aspergillus Allergens

Local and systemic allergy-associated antibodies were regulated by MN treatment. Local and systemic IgE was oppositely regulated in MN-treated allergic mice wherein MN caused a reduction in the airways and an increase in the serum. Allergic mice treated with MN had increased local levels of IgG1, although this isotype was not altered in the serum. Levels of in the BAL fluid and serum were not affected by MN treatment while IgA was increased locally and unaffected systemically.
