Immunohistochemistry for Ki-67 in the hepatic parenchyma to evaluate cell proliferation in the experimental animals treated with the alpha and beta adrenoblockers with respect to the intact, placebo, and cirrhotic controls. An increase in cell proliferation in the portal triad area (possibly a ductular response) is observed in the placebo and cirrhotic groups with respect to the treated and intact groups. Was evaluated with analysis of variance test with the Tukey post hoc.
