ID3 regulates a variety of cellular processes which includes cellular growth, senescence, apoptosis, differentiation, angiogenesis, and neoplastic transformation. This figure illustrates the ID3 interaction with E-proteins. The ID3 protein controls transcription of genes like , OCT4, SOX2, and NANOG by binding to the E-proteins and preventing them from interacting with the E-box sequence on the DNA.
